Donna Or Donny?!

Some PK males do show egg spots, my Jovi had 1 for a while which was why i thought he was female

Nicki is going to send him to me :D  ;)

If only you were near me I would bring him over tomorrow! :D

Thanks for clearing this up,- I knew you would!

Thanks for everyone's input. If there's anyone on here from SE London/North Kent who could give Donny a home please let me know before Monday or I will have to return him to my lfs

If he was a little bit bigger I would of thought he looked like a the King Bettas I always see at LFS here

Captain Jack comes in December for my birthday! Davros too! I can't have another tank until then

I don't want to divide The Doctors tank as it's only a small 20litre bow fronted one and he is sharing it with the 4 corys. They would have no room to move if I divided it  I can't divide my 260litre as I have my longfin bn plecos and they need all the space they can get!

Donny will definitely need a new home  . He is lovely though (just stroppy   )

He's quite a chunker,- twice the size of my 'proper' girlies! :D

Oh God,- I just hope all my other girlies ARE girlies!!!!

I bought Donna along with 5 other female bettas from my lfs a couple of weeks back. Donna was always the largest of the girls. She was quite stroppy the first day I got her but soon settled down.

I hadn't noticed any problems until this morning. The Master is in the community tank with the girls. They have all been getting along just fine. This morning however I saw Donna going after The Master like crazy and really flaring at him! The Master got out of the way pretty darn quickly! I remember seeing a topic on here last week where someone was asking if their betta was female or male. I replied that 'she' looked just like my Donna. Everyone else who replied said that it was a boy  No wonder he looked like my Donna then

'Donna' is in a floating fry tank in the main tank and is flaring like mad at any bettas that go near her. I am convincing myself she is a he,- but just want to confirm it before taking any further action. I haven't got anywhere to house another male at the moment and would have to return him to the lfs and swap for a 'proper' female.

It's just not been my lucky week as far as my bettas are concerned

Yeah that was my 'female' Sapphire, who is now known as Sully

That's the one!

Well Donna is now Mickey Smith and at the moment is in a 10 litre glass bowl. He seems ok,- but I don't like seeing him on his own  I know it's normal for them to be kept on their own, but I'm used to seeing him swimming around in the 260 litre with all the platys.

yeah i know what you mean.
Sully was in my other males 25litre tank while he was breeding (or attempting too) and i thought he was lonely. He is now back in my main tank in a net breeder until my new 60litre cycles. I do feel sorry for him :(
He did build his first bubble nest the other day though :D

ah bless him! :D

Well I may not be too happy about Mickey Smith now being on his own in a bowl, but he obviously doesn't seem to mind as today I came down to find he's built himself a lovely little bubble nest! :D
