I bought Donna along with 5 other female bettas from my lfs a couple of weeks back. Donna was always the largest of the girls. She was quite stroppy the first day I got her but soon settled down.
I hadn't noticed any problems until this morning. The Master is in the community tank with the girls. They have all been getting along just fine. This morning however I saw Donna going after The Master like crazy and really flaring at him! The Master got out of the way pretty darn quickly! I remember seeing a topic on here last week where someone was asking if their betta was female or male. I replied that 'she' looked just like my Donna. Everyone else who replied said that it was a boy

No wonder he looked like my Donna then

'Donna' is in a floating fry tank in the main tank and is flaring like mad at any bettas that go near her. I am convincing myself she is a he,- but just want to confirm it before taking any further action. I haven't got anywhere to house another male at the moment and would have to return him to the lfs and swap for a 'proper' female.
It's just not been my lucky week as far as my bettas are concerned
