My bad habbits began to die when I became a parent , good thing too , more money for fish supplies , anything left over goes to the mortgage , food ,clothing , those kinds of things  .

IRA means only what I said in the UK.

Never thought someone might think I'd be saving up to buy an army  , I am of Irish decent , partly .

Rumours abound in the UK about who fund the IRA, most agree that it is americans (not you I am sure), Macdonalds was one rumour

Since September I've set up a 5 gallon and a 15 gallon, and had 7 bettas at most. [I finally managed to cut back to 4.] After totalling it all up I'm getting almost $600. :S What's sad is my 15 gallon was the cheapest thing I bought.
$20 -- tank and filter
$25 -- sand
$25 -- plants
$50 -- fish
Not to mention the water conditioner and everything, or the sugar and yeast for Co2, but I'd need those for my betta tanks anyway. Oh, and I sold my 5 gallon for $20 so I made a little money there. Not really, though, when you think about it.

Lets see. Tank, stand, lights gravel and plants was 75.
Filter was about 70.
Replacement filter sleeves over 5 and a half years - (eep - just did the maths) 350 or more
Heater - 50
New (non neon coloured) gravel - 30
Now Sand - 40
All the plastic plants and decorations - 100
Food, probably 150
Meds + testing supplies - probably 100
The new hood I'm building now with upgrading lights and a new glass top -80
Then fish - anywhere up to 200
------------------------------------------------
1250... but I know It will be must higher than that... who remembers every purchase over 5 years! I bet I'm up over 2000, Canadian

I've been keeping fish for around 22 years, so it's way, way over $4000.. more than £4000 as well! ($7500)
