I have quickly discovered the downside to getting amano shrimp.... I can't see them... they blend in far too well!!  LOL

AND... when I do spot them they are cleaning rocks and such... I want them to clean the tops of the leaves!  I had an algae problem some time ago and fixed it mostly by creating a blue shade... so I've not had more algae since but the algae that did grow on the leaves hasn't gone away (though I think my anubias plants like it as they all started flowering after they got the algae).

Give them time :) They'll soon move onto the leaves.

They'll clean everything.  They really are voracious eaters.  Once they've cleaned everything, make sure they get some food too.  Don't assume they can survive off of random algae and missed food.  Zucchini and spinach are good.

Will do, for the time being they have quite a lot to work on.  I do have shrimp pellets as well.  I think I will try the zucchini or spinach (cooked to soften it right?) as my other fish won't come along and gobble that up first!

Don't worry too much about your Amanos. Mine were much the same to begin with; hiding everywhere out of sight. One even made it onto the poly-pad at the top of my filter - thought it was done for but as soon as I try to nudge it he jumped back into the tank - amazing creatures!

If there's food to be had on your plants these wee guys will find it and get rid of it!

Blanched rather than cooked for the veggies, although blanching is cooking of sorts. Boil your veggie for a short time then dunk it in cold water...easy.

Well... they have been busy cleaning my tank and now that I figured out what area of my tank is of interest to them... I can find them... well, when they are in an area that some minor gymnastics can position me to see!  LOL

My amano shrimp have decided to work on the glass behind the most heavily plants bit of my tank as well as the backside of my bog wood!!  I do hope they move to the visible bit of my tank soon!
