Ok
Here it goes. All winter all I could do was sit and stare at my tanks and fuss over every little detail. Never missed by a day for a water change actually had to hold myself off from doing them. Water testing, feeding , cleaning, research, TFFing, and countless trips to the LF just to see new stock.
But Summer roles around and the kids are out of school in sports and I run from one playdate in the park to sports practice. I look over at the calendar at dinner and see that I missed a cleaning by 5 days!!!! I do check the fish everyday when I feed them so I knew the fish were ok but still I was mad. Then I relized I hadn't been on here in ages, haven't looked into anything for the new tank I want to do, I also have no clue if my LFS is still open (ok I'm sure they are doing fine with out my weekly $$ drop but still)
So here is the question does the Summer rays (or your kids out of school sch) effect your fish keeping ? I never thought I'd say this as I live in Westeren NY but I want WINTER !!!!!!!!!!!

I find my tanks get a little neglected over the summer as more of my free time is spent on the garden and we socialise more with friends as the good weather means we can meat up with our kids without each others houses getting demolished. I still find time to give all the tanks at least one 25% water change each week though.

like i posted in the TV fish thing, my fish are my chilren i dont trust them with anybody, actually i take better care of them then i do myself :p

I don't have children so the seasons don't really effect me. Work however does effect me, I work nights and we get asked to work overtime frequently. Unfortunately it varies from day to day, some days it's come in 2 hours early other days it's stay over 2 hours. It really messes up my sleep patterns which in turn makes me forget to do things with the tanks.

I suppose a lot revolves around the hobby for me.

Whenever i go on holiday i do a fish shop route plan on the return journey. In fact i visit fish shops whenever i get the chance!

I have a few tanks so there is always stuff to do.

I show fish when the events are on, and go to the fish auctions.

Whenever i go on line it is mainly for fish purposes.

In fact i suppose i am hooked! (pardon the pun)

Before we moved house recently I had 100 tanks in a purpose built fish-house (garden shed) and although I have 4 kids, they sorta took a backseat so to speak when it came to my hobby. Working full time and soo many tanks to look after. So any diy time/labour saving devices were invented to make life easier. So life did not revolve around my hobby, my hobby took over my life.

I only have around 20 tanks now
