well all, the other day i started cycling my tank, which was on friday (the 10th i think) i'm using the filter which i used to have in my 100litre (fluval U2) to cycle my 35 litre anywho...
first of all... i supplied the tank with 4 to 5 ppm of ammonia on the 10th (last friday), then yesterday it came down to around 1ppm (usually takes about a week i believe)
so... i topped it up to 4 ppm again yesterday
and... today it came back down to 1ppm again (around 24hours)
so... i topped up the ammonia to 4 ppm again (today)
and after only 3 or 4 hours the nitrite is 5ppm (which is good enough for only 4 hours; should probably be off the chart) and ammonia is 3ppm its hard to tell
BUT... the main point of this topic is should the nitrite not be off the charts??? and also i have had the filter lying in a box in my garage for 3 months until i decided to set up the 35 litre so should the bacteria not be dead, if so could this be reason its cycling so quick?? sorry if this thread is confusing lol
