Hi
I had a leopard frog pleco a few months ago but it died within a few days. At the time, my tank had just recovered from white spot so there wasnt alot of oxygen due to the meds. Now,i use normal tapwater(obviously de-chlorinated) which is around 8. THe plec was kept in around 7.0-7.5 so is 8 a lil too high.
Did it die of the lack of o2 or the pH? I water mixed it for more than an hour and it seemed fine for days
I was wondering what you think as i'd really like to get another one as theyre such nice fish! i have really missed it since and it was y pride and joy as i was after one for days!

The pH is fine. Plecs can live in that so long as there isn't a huge swing in pH.
It was probably down to lack of oxygen because Bottom Dwellers require more oxygen as they are in deeper water.

Cool, i might try and get another one...maybe lol
Just really water mix it right? Ive got co2 in the tank atm and all the fish seem fine, with the air pump on a lil bit. If my cories and loaches are fine, the plec will be fine right?

As Radar said, as long as there is plenty of oxygen then they'll be fine. They also like to have quite fast flowing water too. :good:

Gr8! I might get another one! :D
THanks for reassuring me guys! Thanks for the help ;)
