So I started a little journal in the photo journal section about my Cichlids and whats going on. I split up the Acara pair for the last time. Their love was not true. It never was they were living a lie. HAHA But anyways Who do I keep? The male or the female?

My Ebjd is most likely a male. My severum is I think a female her color is not as bright and her fins are round. She is only 2" but I would say it's a girl she is also calm and very peaceful.

I'm 100% sure on the sex of my Acaras I saw them spawn so I know who laid the eggs. Who do I keep Mr or Mrs Acara? I think if I keep the female I might have less drama as they get older not they I have fights now they all get along. But you know how Male hormons can be. I am thinking less males the better.

Right now I have the Male acara with the EBJD and the Severum. they get along fine. Looking at the long run thoe Who should I keep?

I need to rehome my acara soon a 10 gal tank is no place for a 4" fish.

I think I would rehome the male, male cichlids have a worse rep than females but saying that I have seen some crazy females as well ....

Its a tough one, which one do you want to keep? I think it could go either way with either of them if they can stand their ground with each other then I imagine they will be able to hold their own with the others in the long run.

I have my new A.Diadema in a 10g in QT at the moment and he is about 4" as well and I feel terrible for him but he needs his medicine so I know the feeling but at least its only short term :)

i wouldn't put it past a BA and a JD to pair up. then you'll have the missus beating up on the JD which could be bad. i try to keep a same sex community because pairs in a community aren't fun

It's a hard one. I was thinking the same thing what if they pair up. This BA is on the small side and is a wimp so I think they will hold their own with no problem. Gosh Im so torn. I thought keeping the male would be bes. At first because my female BA can be really nasty when she wants to. The me never was as mean as her..Thanks guys.
Any others have a idea?

you could try trial and error. put your male BA in with the already established JD and keep a close eye on them for 10 mins. they'll get a bit showy towards each other but after that the pecking order should be established.
