they look maybe easier to keep without the sand??? ( like with normal aquarium substrate )

My understanding of Microglanis is they are secretive, and mainly nocturnal. They've never interested me, but from club members who had them , I get the impression you might see one once a week, if you have a group and a bit of luck. You'll know they're there, unless they aren't and you don't notice...
