Hi
I decided yesterday to replace my male guppy, who died some time ago. I went to the lfs and got myself a new male. There wasn't a very good selection but I picked the best one. I got wittering to the owner and didn't take much notice of which one he put in the bag.
Anyway it turns out the one I have ended up with doesn't look good at all. He's swimming with his tail down and head up and just seems to be doing small circles in the centre of the tank.
It was too late to go back to the shop yesterday, I am unlikely to be able to take him back for a few days. I am worried he will infect my fish, although apart from the odd swimming he hasn't got any other signs of disease. I don't have another tank to separate him into.
What should I do?
Any help gratefully received

the only thing i can help u in is that the other fish will only catch the disease if they go to eat him but they only do tht when they are dead.
post this topic in a emergencys the first thing they will say is the size of the tank in litres or gallons and the water conditions

im sure you will get better replys

If the fish can't control the direction it is swimming in with much ease, the fish most likely has a swimbladder disorder.

Thanks for your quick responses. I took him back to the shop today, I got a better specimen and made sure I got the one I chose. He is already interested my ladies :hey: which is more than the other guy managed!
Thanks again
