Do Your Fish Do This Too?

quite regularly I see my platy swimming up and down the glass with there nose to the side of the tank, watching my dwarf gourami and hes going crazy like he thinks thers another fish the other side of the glass and he wants to get it! what are they doing and do your fish do the same?

Yes they do! It's quite common especially when fish have been moved to new tank, following big water change or rearrangeemnt of tank contents. Quite funny -they sometimes appear to be rubbing noses with their reflection up and down the tank sides!

yes corys do this the most i think and my guppys will do this when i over feed them or when the other fish decided to grab lots of food creating a feeding frenzy

thats true my clown loach scared the crap out of me the other day, hes on his own right now so I worry about him, but walking past the tank I saw my clowns tail poking out from behind the bogwood lying down and thought he was dead! i'm too paranoid about my fish!

Done the same several times. Mine have now become adicted to my airstone and will float verticly above the stone so that they are consumed in all the bubbles. truly the most humerous fish I have watched(My Lawnmower Blenny comes to a close secong though).
