Test the ph daily and try to stop the bounce back. (it probably will as the hardness was very high before) Don't make any changes over .2 a week or so. Hope your fish make it. And also, never try to lower the ph. It is very hard and unless in the hands of an expert, it will likely end in disaster (as you have already found out). Almost all soft water liking fish will live just fine in higher ph levels. Best of luck to you and your fish.

Thanks, i did a 4 gallon water change, and the sexy molly seem's to be doing better, but not enough difference to know if he will make it or not. Tommorow i will post the reradings when i get back from school.

Dont bother with ph changing "magic" liquids. They cause so many problems if not extremely careful with them.

I fully agree with Chris.

Ph changing substances, especially pH reducing substances, are a menace. Throw it away before your tempted to use it again.

If you need to bring the pH down, add bogwood, leaves or carbon dioxide. Far slower and stabler process

I was told that aireation takes down the ph level? I have some bogwood, but it wont sink!!!!!! I hot glued it to a piece of slate, but it floated b ack up to the top. I also tried drilling a hole through the slate, but the drill cant go through it. I dont have enough money for bogwood already presitioned for a tnak. I heard that leave's make alot of nitrate's. Is that true?

Floating driftwood doesn't hurt anything, I have a large piece floating in the 65 gallon in my living room. I redecorated it a while back, it's one of the few tanks I have with any substrate. Two pieces of driftwood that sunk, and one floating piece.
