My 55 gal tank looks empty. I have a pair of blue acaras, 6 red eye tetras and a medusa pleco that I NEVER SEE! My acaras are 3 inches they spawn every now and then but only one parent takes care of the young. My fish are crazy the dad is caring for this 2nd batch mom just hangs out.

I want another cichlid for the tank. I was thinking Severum. I want to get a little 2" baby and watching it grow. I know it's a 55 gal tank and that is the very minimum for one severum. BUT looks like a larger tank is in my near future I had a talk with my husband. So the 55 gal would not be the permeant home. I'm looking for a 90 Gal. What do you think? Bad idea or could it work? I don't want to put any small cichlids in with my acaras because I don't think they would do well.

Other fish on my Wish list are
Dwarf Flag
rainbow cichlid
Laetacara Thayeri
porter acara
I have a weakness for the acara type fish.

The Severum is the only large fish I want.

Guianacara sp.? If you can find one, it would work in the tank from what I've read.

Some info on them. I didn't read every post, but there are some good contributions in there.
