i have an online course so everyday during class i sneek on here and just now i almolst got caught :*) :p does anyone here who is in high school do the same?

Sometimes, but we don't have IT anymore :( We use the computers sometimes in other subjects so I usually come on then.

I'm a little old for school (53) but I am at work. Does that count? They need one of those "Boss" buttons like the online job search sites have. You just click those and it immediately puts up something that makes it look like you're working when in actuallity, you're looking for another job.

I am the boss so i get away with it, you could try a do not disturb sign on your office or keep your hand over ctrl and Tab

I don't go to school or work, so i don't have to creap on,lol.

Actually, I'm in a cubicle with my boss right behind me on the other side. As long as our work gets done they don't have a problem with us getting online.

If they told me I couldn't get on here while at work, they'd have to put me through a treatment program. I go into withdrawals. Being in the US, the forum isn't nearly as active in the evenings when I'm at home since there are more members from the UK than from the US.

Hehe, I used to get on ALL the time in high school. I have two computer classes back to back, so that was two straight hours of forum time :)

I don't sneak on any now that I'm in college. I never have time.

rdd - nice deal!

Big Brother is Watching! As a of the teacher (not a boring one, I hope)... In our school/district, Big Brother does watch. If a student is caught searching the net without permission, the district plugs in their student ID and downloads every site the student has ever visited and how long they stayed on that site. They do the same for teachers if we are expected of using the web for personal reasons. It's also possible for admins to pull up webpages that staff and students alike are looking at in real time.

Scary, huh? I think "1984" (George Orwell) is now. Listen to all the Doublespeak going on in the US government. Homeland Security, for starters.

I don't have any comp classes at the moment, so no, I don't sneak on the forum during class :p
I'm sure I would have during high school though... my comp class was sooo boring! The teacher was literally over 70 years old, and she was teaching us amazing skills like how to press ctrl+c to copy . I'd always finish early and we were allowed to log online after we were done, so my webjournal got a lot of updates during that semester, lol

Good girl, I am now an IT tech (was a teacher at a college with a lax policy) at a secondary school in the UK, we are cruel to be kind and cut off any offenders at my school (offenders = anyone using the net for non-schoolwork, (not my policy)). This policy works, our school has the best rep IT wise in the county.

The Windows Key + D is a brilliant key combination that most people don't know about.

Try it, press the Windows Key on the bottom left of your keyboard and combine it with the Letter D, this stands for Desktop, and minimises everything to your task-bar in an instant...! No more risk.
