I have bred once, yes I now have three beebees who doing MUCH better than their father, I'm afraid.
I'd planned to breed since I started researching it in eleventh grade (waaay back when! That was over four years ago, now) but it was only this year that I had the money, space time and the male I wanted Now, unfortunately, I seem to be losing the male, but hopefully at least one of his babies will turn out as gorgeous as him.
I have always been very interested in breeding, but frankly, I'm so picky about how bettas are cared for, that I'd never place them, and then I'd have to buy about 200 five gallon tanks. Cleaning them would take up all of my time. So I've decided against it.
I don't breed them at the moment, but I'd like to try my hand when I move back to FL, especially some of the wild species as part of a conservation effort.
