Hi Can anyone tell me.Do kissing gourami make bubble nests.I've have 4' of them from young but notheing seem to happen by making a nest with the floating plants Thanks.Mark

No, Kissers breed in the same fashion as all gouramies, (anabantoids) but do not build bubble nests... their eggs merely float to the surface.

They only start breeding from around 5/6" in length

i thought gouramis WERE bubble nest builders??

As it is in everything else, you do get the exceptions to the rules... in this instance, Kissers are the odd ones out... they do not build Bubblenests.

so gouramis are bubble nest builders, kissing gouramis are not?

Yep!... as I said, their eggs float, and are guarded in the same way as other anabantoids... the breeding method is also the same with the male folding over the female... she releases the eggs... he sprays his sperm over the eggs, and the eggs gather at the surface.
