I would much prefer to control the amount of food I put into my tank instead of worrying that I may have to have a lot more fish I may not need.
One main culprit of fish tank upsets, especially with new hobbyists, is over-feeding. Yes, certain fish need certain dietary requirements and some even need more than others, but it is very, very hard to 'underfeed' tropical fish in general...yet it is a whole load easier to overfeed them.
