Is it possible to make a diy co2 for this size tank? Also does anyone have any guides I could follow so i can set one up?

Thanks in advance,

Tim.

DIY CO2 isn't powerful enough to produce CO2 for such a large tank. The CO2 concentration would be too low and most probably be very unstable which some forms of algae love but plants hate. If you really have to inject CO2 (lighting levels of over 100W) then it's going to have to be pressurized. If your lighting is 70W or less then liquid carbon would be better to use than DIY CO2.

Thank you. Will have to check the lighting power as I know it has two t8's in it, not sure of power though. Using florish excel and jbl round ball things but doesnt seem to be doing anything for the plants. Is there anything else I can try or you reccomend.

Welcome to the forum XP. Right now I have my new build with a W7 system on an X58 MB.
Chances are good that 2 T-8s on a 65 gallon tank are going to mean very low light in terms of plants. That means that CO2 supplements will really not be needed for the plants you will be able to grow. I have a few of my tanks running very low light like that and find that the atmospheric CO2 that dissolves in the water with normal filtration is plenty for them to have healthy plants. I grow mostly Anubias nana, java fern and java moss in very low light tanks. When I can get more moderate light, I go with things like Cryptocoyne aponogetifolia and the Amazon swords along with vallisneria. They also will do fine without supplemental CO2 but are relatively slow growing without it. If you want rapid plant growth, use fertilizers, high light and CO2 but be prepared to prune the plants incessantly. I prefer the easy care of slow growing plants.
