So - had a 20 gal. sittin' around doing nothing and decided to divide it into three for three of my boys. THEN got the bright idea to divide my 10 gal.

Thought I would show them off here - each compartment has it's own filter.

Here is the 20 gal.:

Here are a couple of the 10 gal. :

Not the best pics in the world, but you get the idea.

Absolutely amazing. If I didn't make a pact to never have a divided tank again, I would be very tempted to use your aquascaping as a basis.

They both look great. I demand more close up pictures! :p

Oh they look amazing! WHere are the filters? You said each part has its own filter but i cant see even a cord running into the tank apart from the heater. Is it just one heater or do they each have their own to?

I'm more curious as to why so many filters and how have you lowered the current.

Those tanks are absolutely gorgeous LionMom. I bet you have very happy Bettas in there and hopefully a space for your new boy when he arrives :good:

Wow they are great, with individual filters and everything thats pretty impressive!

Beautiful tanks. Man I bet you have allot of things to plug up. Just on my 10gal alone I have 4. Lol

Thank you all for your kind words - I really, really enjoy these tanks.

They each have their own filter so everybody gets SOME water movement. I am able to reduce the flow of the power filters by rubber banding an AquaClear sponge in front of where the water comes in - it's even somewhat adjustable that way. :)

You can't see the filter cords for the most part because they run behind the tank backing.

No, only one heater per tank - all tanks are 80 - 82 F.

Why did you make a pact with yourself for no more divided tanks?

Of COURSE I have a set-up all figured out for Betta Crocker in the kitchen!!! :)

I use power strips for all the plugs.

Now you got me wanting to divide my 14 gal lol

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

What's funny is my husband loves the Bettas more than the guppies now and he wants to feed the Bettas each morning. Loves their personalities. I told him about the dividing the 14 and he just gave me a "YAY!" :yahoo: kinda look.

I think once these guppies finish growing...I will sell them off and get 2 more bettas....now my husband and I have Betta fever.

I've lost these three guys (one of which was my first betta) due to accidental fighting from a divider gap.

Granted this can be avoided with precaution..... but I'm a very detail oriented person and double checked the divider on both incidents.

The first time, my original betta had to be put down and the other guy fully recovered. This was after I relocated the tank and didn't notice the divider moving even after "checking". That was a "lesson learned". The second time, the surviving betta and a new betta managed to thrash each other to the brink of death. I had checked the divider many many times after I moved the tank to a new house. I believe my dog bumped the stand the tank was on and the pin securing the divider slid just enough to allow a tiny gap. My fault for not securing the divider properly.... I was busy moving other things into the house.

Imagine waking up to seeing two bettas on one side of the tank shredded and barely moving :shout: . It was pretty dramatic.

I've just decided that letting my bettas enjoy a large tank all to themselves keeps my mind at rest. Even if i were to seal a divider with silicone, I would constantly be worried about another incident.

I may divide our 3ft tank when all its inhabitants pass away...but then i have two adult clown loaches that are pretty durable.... :D

My fiancee wont let me get anymore tanks :( I already have four and two of them are my bettas. He just fed them and is falling in love with Shimmer my PK because he was dancing for him when he fed him :)

I meant to ask you lionmoon, what sort of filter are you using to be able to have all sections filtered? I can see the lil poles going down but what do they connect to? A bigger power head? Your tanks have my brains ticking over :hyper:
