Anyways so im only allowed to have one fish tank if i get a 75 gallon. So i have a community tank right now with an angelfish 2 bolivian rams and 2 swordtails and 3 pictus catfish. Also i have a 20 gallon african cihlids tank and a 10 gallon sheldwelling tank. So this is what i am going to do buy silicone and plastic canvas at walmart. cut to size and silicone two pices one on the left making 20 gallons and one on the right making 5 gallons and then in the middle will be a 50 gallon african cichlid tank. And have 2 hob filters with intakes on each section and outputs going towards the middle. Do you think this will work?????? And btw all my fish are at 7.5 ph right now and i wont be using rocks that change the ph so all fish will be at same ph they are at right now including africans and south american cichlids. Thanks!

I feel like the 5 gallon section, due to the dimensions of the tank, would extremely short. I did some quick math, and assuming the tank is about 48x18x20 inches, the 5 gallon section would be about 3 inches long, the 20 gallon section would be 12 inches long, and the 50 gallon section would be 32 inches long. I may be wrong though.

Dunno about everything else, but I might reconsider the size of the sections.

Yeah I don;t think it will work. why can't you just get another tank? Or you might have to think about selling some fish off.

20 gallon- 1 jacobfreibergeri 1 firemouth 1 convict 1 cobalt blue 2 pictus cats 2 giant danios 1 orange blotch zebra and 1 haplochromis Obliquedeon cichlid. 20 gallon-1 green severum and 2 bolivian rams

Just took that from your signature if these are the fish you want to mix and put in compartments in a 75g your having a laugh, the first 20 gallon tank is an abosolute car crash of a stocking list and an absolute nightmare to think about - I wouldnt put the FM and the con in there let alone the africans and the pictus if you like africans a 75 will be great for them rehome the rest of the fish like the sev, con and FM etc and stick to them in an african cichlid tank.

No, it won't work. The tanks will have very odd dimensions, the fish won't get the space they need . . . a 5 gallon tank that is 2 foot x only a few inches? Mad.

Take a look at your stocking and don't be so keen to cram all your current fish into the larger tank. Take a close look at each species, their adult size, their activity levels and how compatible they are with other fish. Build your stocking around that and be willing to sell/rehome fish if necessary.

Dont worry i havent updated my sig in like 5 months right now i have a 75 gallon with just the african cichlids and the 3 pictus. I got rid of the severum, convict, and firemouth long ago. i just setup up a 29 gallon tank for the community tank intead of dividing the 75 gallon. Ill post pics in 2 hours!
