Fully grown bog standard SD's Matt.

I wasn't suggesting a FH for this tank, i was merely rubbing it in

How big a Sev would you be considering? :/

And, why not just bang 4 Rainbows in?

Hujeta Gars could work if you can find them big enough

or a group of big clown loach
the gars would be a great choice if i could find them at a decent size. too small and they will be swallowed by Frank.

clown loach really dont do it for me im affraid.

the rainbows are close to snack size already so i doubt they would last long and i dont want to use them in error....

a chunky sev above 5-6 inches would be required as the cat is growing very fast

But wouldn't the Sev eventually end up getting on Keiths wrong side and be attacked again?

How about... sell up and have a Betta, on it's own, with a piece of bog wood and 1 plastic plant? Now that would be alot simpler!

i would have to get 2 or 3 so keith doesnt bully just one. hopefully he would get use to other fish as company like he was before. i would never add a single large fish in with him again unless it was something like a trimac, FH ets something that would stand up for itself. my only worry then is Keiths safety

hes such a hard fish to stock around

Yeah, Keith definately has to be number 1... A FH would be too aggressive imo.

Would you dare try the Firemouth?

Oh right... :/

Do you not think though that anything has the possibility of becoming it's dinner as it is still TINY in comparison to what it will be in 3-6 months time?

I think you should get rid of the catfish, those things are a stocking nightmare.

If its any help, my local MA used to have both a TSN and a RTC in a 8ftx8ftx2ft fully grown along with about 30 full grown silver dollars and red hooks, 6 oscars, breeding pair of jags, 6 of the biggest Severums i have ever seen...bigger than the fully grown Oscars, a fully grown hugeee Tilapia Buttikoferi that dominated the tank, polleni, a gar, loads of gibbi plecs etc.

The dollars were deffo safe and the cats would never catch them even if they tried.

this is true but anything that in there at least has to stand a chance.....

something like the gars at the surface and a decent size might be ok or a deep bodied fish might. i also know that i cant keep Frank forever so when he gets too big he will have to go

I think it maybe sooner rather than later Matt... :/
well as i said in my other topic i am feeding him big amounts at the minute to try and keep his belly full and take his mind off the barbs until they sell or can be moved into another tank.

he has grown about an inch nad a half in 6 weeks though and doubled if not more in width

I would have them mate from you but i am uncertain that i have the space? :/ That and i haven't really got 35 notes to spunk on them  So unless you fancy a swap for anything i have? :hey:

i actually think you are right mate.

i honestly didnt expect the growth rate to be this fast........ and i know i cant keep him forever, and its a lot of messing around just for one fish......

something to think about i recon. at least i can say ive had one now.

he is a beauty though
