My new discus is in with three types of fish that no one would recommend. Cherry barbs, white clouds, leopard danios. I did not want to take them back to the local store as I have had them for over 2 years now and they are old. I would never recommend these fish with discus but all is very peaceful and they absolutley do not bother the discus at all.
I also have a female angel fish, her husband went to the store as I only wanted to have a nice dipsplay tank with two angels. They turned out to be a pair and were getting very aggressive with each other and the other fish too.
So, my angel and discus get along and with each other all the time. I can say that my tank is very peaceful and I enjoy watching it greatly.
When my little fish expire, they will be replaced with rummy noses and cardinals as they give off such an awesome display.
good luck to you and just watch your discus and your new fish, any problems then remove the problem ones.
