Discus Why?

i have seen the past couple of months that people r starting moving on to discus i have done so my self, but was just thinkin how come so many are doing it at the same time?

i guess you notice it more when your moving into that species yourself like ive been searching dps and for some reason thought alot were moving into dps but thats just me maybe alot are moving into discus

ive been wanting to do it for ages but its just been cost stopping me so im just doing it while i got the cash .

Agreed, its like buying a car, for example your looking at and get a bmw, suddenly you notice them all, where as before you wouldnt have paid attention,

But discus is one i will not be looking into, one the water changing<as have very hard water, two the bloomin price, its rediculous if and when i get to colombia then fair enough at 10-20p each i will look into it then

i no what u mean about the water changing i have nice soft water were i live and my othere main tank is sp. assams so one water change a month with them i dont think i would have time for any more tanks. i would love to be able to get fish for 10-20p each

trouble is its now at the frustrating stage. ive looked at the finances and i can do it ( just) ive done my research chosen my plants put together a shopping list ( and quite a list too) the shopping list is as ......an eheim 2217+ , a circulation pump , digital thermometer, plant substrate ,gravel vac ( ditched mune when i changed to sand) , gravel , extra single light unit , 38w tube, some new test kits , plants, plant food , long tongs , then the fish. when i added it all up i almost fainted

lol a just bite now and took it spent all the money i got for xmas and all the money from over time at work. or and i got my fish cheap of ebay which helped alot for the 5 in the photos i posted befor i got them for 50quid so was well happy.

yer got them all for £50 come realy close to spendin alot of money then seen them they were off a lad on here that was closein his tank. he dident get any one that wanted them and put them on ebay when i pmed him he gave me the link and i was the only person that bidded on them.
