Some of my discus have very distinct 'stress' marks. One peppers a lot, another has bars.

It is several hours since the lights have gone off. The room has been dark too. I just looked in the tank an can see the discus are totally free from the mood marks! Is this just because they feel safe in the dark? Seems a little strange. They are happy fish - spawning and erect fins etc.

most fish change colour at night, not the best time to look really.

Is it usual that their colours get better at night?! One discus peppering is only there during the day, so looks a lot better when the lights are off haha

Both of my green severums seem to change colour at night time.
I did worry the first time I seen it although I've never kept discus so I cannot comment on them.

it is normal for discus to change colour...don't worry!! the bars are also normal. you only need to worry if they go black!! this indicates severe stress and the possibility of death. your fish sound fine!

i agree my cardinals are the same if you turn the light on after pitch black there is no red at all. My discus are the same some days they are stunning with bright cobalt blue and feint lines, some days they are not so bright with stronger lines but really healthy on either

ya my angels eye color turns a different color at night

Oh dear... I clicked in here thinking I was going to be reading about fish with stretch marks, which I'd never heard of before - think my eyes must be tired LOL
