now that my new discus have overcome their initial shyness im really pleased with the way they are coming out of their shells. i actually managed to hand feed them today :good:

Good to hear Mark! The longer they settle in they tamer they become. I have to nudge mine out of the way during tank cleanings, they huddle against my hands and peck at them!

yeah they are getting more confident all the time now . not the best pics but here they are feeding from my hand

lovely fish!! lol

in my opinion if you get them all feeding you have cracked it as in the past I found the heirachy the problem with the weakest fish often not getting enough food

yeah theyre feeding really well mate. i usually hand feed em a chunk , then drop 1 in , and they all attack it like they havent eten in a week! looks like a possible pair forming already too :good:

cheers connor. the cobalt has to be my fave , its the biggest out of the 6 and has got a nice round shape . the other fish is an unhappy red turq, it lost a lot of colour lately as it was getting chased relentlessly and beat up by the dominant cobalt. the cobalt has paired up with the other red turq and they chose the big chunk of wood right in the middle of the tank as their teritory, and it wasnt working so i moved their wood right up to 1 end of the tank, they have still adopted it and now all the other fish have plenty of space to keep away , it seems to have worked as there is now no more aggro and the turq is starting to get its colour back today . :good:

yeah thats why i moved their wood right up 1 end of the tank. so that should they spawn there is still plenty of space for everybody

Love the hand feeding pics, they look great! Nothing like having fish feeding by hand its a lovely feeling.

Vinny is doing well btw, he has found a friend with Seymour and they follow each other around all day, trouble is seymour being so much smaller he can get into gaps Vinny cant, but the silly booga tries to follow.

They look lovely, very beautiful fish.

yeah its brilliant hand feeding them. now if they see my hand near the glass they all rush over to it expecting to be fed and when they realise theres no food they go off behind the plants and have a sulk  they are turning out to be a lot more interactive than i was expecting.

good to hear that vinny is happy. he does enjoy the company of other sevs . any other sev that i added to the tank he used to follow around like their shadow

woh, good to see that discus eats from your hand, your discus already show colors...

yes once they got over their initial nerves thay settled in pretty quickly . :good:
