My lovely red double tailed delta managed to jump through the gap on my aquanano 50 glass lid!

So gutted right now, I have always ensured that the stupid cut out triangle is at the back of the tank, near the powerhead, it was literally a 3.5mm gap he has jumped through!

Beware everyone, I am now looking into getting a custom made lid fitted similar to what Ch4rlie has done with his in the past.

Poor little fella, must have been a horrid death!!!!!

Oh no! I'm so sorry Shelster :-( Swim in peace little guy.

Aw Shelster :(

So sorry to hear that.

Great advice though to warn others about that. I do know the corner cutout on these aquaone tank lids as well as small gap along edge.

Hope you manage to get a custom tank lid made for that, would advise glass rather than plastic / perspex as that bends due to heat and moisture.

Thanks guys, I'm so sad, I pop into the kitchen to get bits and keep expecting him to be there looking at me like he always was!
I think he jumped for a Mosi that was attracted by the bright tank light.

That sounds about right for a betta, silly little things. :(

So very sorry to hear this news.  :(   This just pinpoints how important it is to have a completely covered tank since bettas can and often will jump through the smallest of spaces.

I know what great care you take of your fish, thus I am so sorry Shelster.
I bought some plastic craft mesh to fill in the gaps in one of my aquariums.
