Thought I would share my mini-riccia disaster. I spent $25.00 and bought a bunch of riccia. It came in the mail smelling real bad. I cleaned it the best I could and netted it on slate, rock ect. Half of it came loose and the rest died w/in days. It took me several cleanings to get it all out. No more riccia for me. I haven’t had much luck with glosso either.

Are there any easy carpet plants?

Depends on your light gaya. I finf riccia grows really well for me no matter how bad I treat it

I am currently growing lilaeopsis as a carpet plant but it hasn't done much yet. It hasn't died BUT is very slow to start spreading.

There ar some hemianthus species out there....perhaps other peeps can give more specifics.

You could try some os the sagitarria species. Sagitarria Subulata for example.

i have a bazillion watts going on in one of my tanks lol. One gets around 3-4 watts/g, another 2 watts/g and another 1.5 watts/g. Full spectrum in 3 tanks and all died! Granted one of my tanks has a pleco :*

I'm off to purchase! lol behind my man's back. If he had any idea of how much money I spent on fish stuff and plants he'd crap himself.

where did you get the riccia from? sounds like a dodgy batch and your due a refund or replacement.

it should have been fine in all of your tanks. it's pretty hardy stuff if healthy.

I got it from someone on ebay. It looked ok when i got it...was green but i wondered if it was really riccia and not some bizzare weed. I'd feel bad asking for a refund on plants.

Don't feel bad asking for a refund on anything!!!

I got some plants from Ebay a few weeks ago and they arrived black and looking like slime algae -_- I emailed the seller and he didn't believe me at first. When I threatened to leave negative feedback he couldn't ship the new ones to me quick enough. When the second lot arrived they were in perfect condition and he'd even thrown in extra ones, like riccia and some java ferns  Not that I need riccia though as it grows in my tank like weed
