Hi all,

I've just received a ceramic diffuser I ordered off e-bay. It didn't come with any instructions so I was wondering: Is it best to submerge it and then attach the airline, or, attach the airline and then submerge it, (similarly to airstones)?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm using a DIY yeast based CO2 apparatus. The advert said that it was compatible.

Due to the fact that slightly heating the airline (with very hot water or something) will make it softer and easier to attach to the diffuser (I was having problems with my airline popping off until I attached it this way), I would say that you would probably want to attach the airline and then submerge it--trying to attach to a submerged diffuser would make it difficult to keep the airline warm. I don't really think it makes a difference, although placing the airline without the diffuser attached may cause water to get into the airline if there isn't enough pressure.

Cool! Thanks for the advice, and the quick responses!

Cheers. :good:
