Different Sized Pectoral Fins?

Hello,

I just noticed that my betta's pectoral fins were different sizes. His right fin is larger than his left fin. I tried doing a bit of research and couldn't find anything that remotely related to this.

I was curious to know if this was a health issue? Or if it was normal? Or if he was just special and had a mutation of sorts? lol.

it sounds like a birth deformity....nothing you really need to be concerned about....bettas are generally highly overbreed and similar defects are quite common

That's what I figured, but I wanted to make sure. It's just interesting that I hadn't really noticed it until today and I've had him for over a year and a half!
