Different Frontosas?

hi, just want peoples opinions really, i show pictures of 2 frontosas and can people with trained eyes tell me if they are different variants, please only comment if you know what your talking about.
this is one;

this is the other;

i know myself there is differences between the two, it doesn't take a trained eye to see that, but are they actually different variants? the first which is just your average burundi is more white than blue, the stripes thin out towards the bottom.
the second, which i believe is the dominant male in the tank, has a much more 'royal' blue colour to the fins and has a blue face, also, not so noticeable in the pictures, its white bits in between the black stripes, are blue also, the whole fish itself is darker as you can see, but its the boss in the tank, he chases the rest so can't be due to stress as nothing stress's him! if you get what i meen.

Hi Dave, they are both burundi, very nice ones too. The darker one is showing his potential as alpha male.

second the burundi ... OMG anyway i saw the nicest frontosa varient .. known as a 'blue zaire' nearly fell over when i walked past it ... 85 quid though

nice fish mate ... is it all tanganyikan in there ?

hi,im no expert but the guy in the lfs who keeps and breeds them
reckons its the alpha male,he shows the most prominant colours.i will
agree as some of mine have faded or grown colour to suit.hope this helps

hi, forgot about this thread, they are all gone now, and yes i thought the darker one was just the dominant male, it showed a lot more blue than the other which was what made me wonder.
they was too small but got a good price for them so will probably get some bigger ones next time, and will definitely be getting one of the zaire blue varieties, thanks for the help anyway guys!

i have seen some fish listed as 'red frontosas' anyone have any ideas what these are or what they look like?

the zaires are so much better than the reds , they arent completely red they just have a tinge if you get what i mean , the blue looks more like a purple and the white is just pinkish

Thats what they all look like, unless they are stressed, ugly imo.
