Oh to have that luxury lol. I had a garden hose coming out of my washing machine faucet lol. That was the best I could do!Ahh, i see i was using a 30gallon tub on my lawn with a hosepipe......
So I got the tank filled now. I know it is slightly couldy (like i stated before, it was interesting trying to wash the sand, but I don't think I did bad for my first sand cleaning job. These were taken about 5 minutes after filling. I have the filter running. I am leaving the heater in for about an hour so that it can reach the temp of the water, then i will turn it on and set the temp. I am going to set it for 29C so that the temp it high when I start my cycle.
The only thing is, its going to cycle slightly prior to me dosing with ammonia due to the fact that there is ammonia in the water. I also would like to start the cycle soon, but I am going out of town from the 3rd-7th of November. If I doe it to 5ppm 3-5 before I leave, what are the odds of needed a redosing before I get back if I am not using mature media from the start?
The mature media I am going to use for the cycle is actually sitting in the filter of my 40g tank. I stuck it in there about 2 weeks ago so that the bacteria will spread to it. So by now it should have some fairly good growth. When I get back from vacation, I will then stick that piece of media into my filter to seed it. Am I on the right track here? Will it mess up the fishless cycle to seed it a couple of weeks after the cycle has started?

Found some more rocks today. I'm waiting till tuesday to clean them thought because that is my day off

Quite surprising how much rock you actually need isn't it, Bet your getting a lil excited now its filled and starting to take shape though 
Oh yes. I am going to Georgia on 3 November, so I am going to dose it with ammonia the night before we leave to get the cycle going (i will probably do a water change before hand to get some of the cloudiness out. And I cleaned that sand for 2 hours!) Then when we come back, I am going to add the sponge I have in my 40g aquarium. (I put an extra sponge in my community tank so that bacteria will spread to it) Hopefully by December I will have my new fishies!!Quite surprising how much rock you actually need isn't it, Bet your getting a lil excited now its filled and starting to take shape though

Excellent.. The best thing while your away to it wont feel as tedious waiting for the tank to cycle, time will feel like its passing quicker
