Ironic as it may be, my first fish did in fact come from WalMart.
That was Amos.
I bought him before I had a clue about fish.
I got online to figure out what kind of tank I needed to get for him.

Funny how the tables have turned....

My dad had always had fish tanks while I was growing up. So originally, no, it wasn't Walmart that got me interested in fish. I've had several tanks at different times in my life. But yes, it was Walmart this time around that got me into the hobby again. Whenever my dad, my daughter and I would go to Walmart to do our shopping, if the kiddo got fussy, my dad would take her to look at the fish while I finished shopping. She absolutely loves looking at the "shishies". (Her way of saying fishies). So for Christmas last year I got her a fishtank and shishies all of her own. (That I take care of, of course). I did not however get her tank or fish from Walmart. I get all my fish stuff and related items from a shop 30 miles from home, as they're the best, and I would rather drive the distance and give them my money than any other shop in this area.

Walmart has never helped me, the only fish related thing I boutght from them was a filter that I use for my toads Their fish are always dead/dying anyway (I've only been to a couple stores on LI)
