Did My Sister Just Come Home With A Platy Or A Molly?

Yep a molly but as others say, not in a good condition at all.
The babies may survive as you say there's dense foliage but if the mother comes across them she will eat them as will any other fish in there. What other fish does she have in there?

it is a 29 gallon tank with 4 guppies (1 male 3 females), 2 african dwarf frogs, and now this female. The fish was bought on the 10th of May - - I tested the water myself on the 11th and all stats were perfect - - 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 20ish nitrate. My sister was due for a weekly water change on the 12th.

the fish has greatly improved since the first photo was taken - - swims around normally, no flicking, no rubbing, no dashing. Fins are held in a normal position while swimming. Eating enthusiastically.
