Did a Really Stupid thing

I went to get a severum last night. My dad went with me and insisted i get a JD. All together i picked up a Sev, a JD, A festivum ( named Festivus), and a Large Gold gourami. They are doing fine i thjought until this morning when i saw one o fmy cories acting strange. It was swimming all around with its head pointed down almost like a headstander. It also hada little of one of its barbels gone. Its tail has a chunk out of it and is crooked. I know i Screwed up so dont flame me. I really want to keep all of these fish. All the other new additions are fine and its like they arent even there but the JD worries me. My LFs said they wouldnt take him backl so i have to make this work. I want to get this big Cave shaped like a junction Of sewer Pipes. Would this be a suitable hiding spot for my Cories and would it lessen the aggression if All the fish had their own territory?

either that, or take advantage of the situation and explain to your dad why you need a new 30 gallon to house the cories!

You could try using larger rocks to "seperate" the tank too. Or driftwood, a plant wall... whatever can be a physical barrier inside your tank will help fish stick to their territories

I got one Big plant that i can turn sideways to 'seperate" the tank. My birthdays coming up and i Asked for a Big Cave and I will have birthday money whcih Means ........ New Plants and a Pictus cat

don't get a pim pictus, get atleast 3.

and if your loading your tank with decor to split territories to avoid agression the pim pictus aren't going to have much space to swim. You shoudl give them open swimming space to go nuts in!!

I dont Pl;an on Having a Solid Wall. Just Som obstacles up high. I will try to leave a big swimming footprint. I may have to add the Pictus's oin Gradually As My LFS geets thwm in Sparingly.

the swordtail and the danios have to go otherwise your JD will do it for you. maybe can you move the corys to the 10gal for a while?

I really Should Change My sig huh? The 55 will only have the Sev, Festivum, JD,Gourami, 4 Cories and The shark. The 10 gallon si currently BE treated for ich but i added a small cave temporarily. I will be getting some Big ones Like Next Week. My JD has shown No signs of aggresion and The Gourami Is the BUlly. I hope i can get some Pims.

What kind of gourami? The cories may take a beating as you're cichlids grow.
If you had 3 pictus, with a sev, festivum and a JD I'd say the tank would be good. I've heard of the RTBS getting aggressive, you might want to keep an eye on it

Whatever else you do, please rescue your corys immediately!

They are meek and defenseless little fish, and one has already been mutilated. Their only protection is in swimming as part of a large school, where there are so many fish that the odds of their survival are in their favor. Keeping them near those aggressive fish mush have them terrorized and that's no way for them to have to live.

And they should not have to hide inside a cave or under plants for the rest of their lives either. They need to be moved right away.

im working on it. The most aggresive fish in the Tank is the Gold Gouirami. It goes after the JD, Sev, and festivum. If i had a big enougfh school would the cories be alright. I can get like 5 or 6 more to have a school of like 10. Ive been Watching My RTBS but so far he just hides in the plants a lot.

I think your cories are lunch regardless of how many you put in.
