Design Fault

The lid on this tank is quite heavy as it has the light fitting in it, the problem is the hinge mechanism, they are not up to the job, I have had one break, and a new one cost me £8.50, a lot for a piece of plastic, I thought, now the other side has broken........any idea's would be welcome......

iv got a aqua mode 300 (size down) and mine's not got a problem check the clips at the back are pushed right down?

I had 620T and never had a problem with clips, been selling these tanks for 4.5 years and never once seen the clips go!?

Either really bad luck, one off fault with that tank, something is jamming the lid slightly and its forcing the clips out of line slightly putting more strain on them or...well... no offense... but maybe not being handled carefully enough?

When opening lid all the way up, do you lift it then let it fall into right open forcing the hinges backwards?

Thanks for reply's guys, I haven't seen any clips on them, do you mean the hinge? Will check that,I don't do anything to the lid only lift it up, lift it off for cleaning, and put it back on, but will have another look at it, I must be doing something wrong, lol,....... Thanks
