Okay so I have a very pretty blue male betta fish that was very active and showy when I first got him. But here recently he has been still and lifeless when I walk into my room. He doesn't eat anymore he just hangs out at the bottom of the tank. I don't want him to die or anything and it makes me so sad when I read about how hungry and fun everyone else's fish are. I feel like a failure as a owner and I want him to survive so how the heck do I make him better he isn't swollen and i change his water every other day somebody please help me!!! Oh and I used to have another red male one in the same tank but with a divider and he died but that was a couple months ago. I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's his water or what

Do you have a testkit of any kind? It might be his water, only way to know is to test it.

I agree. You need to test his water. My money is on that being the problem.

Did you cycle your tank? If not theres your problem. If you did cycle it then you will have a water testing kit and can tell us the stats.

Welcome to the forum Payton83.
Give him some company. I keep my betta in a 45 gallon endler tank and he never sulks or sits around. He spends his time swimming around with the endlers and competes with them for his food. He is a bit of a PITA to capture in a picture because he never sits still for very long. I have kept bettas alone in jars but will no longer do so because they are very nice social animals, not the loners people make them out to be. They always look better and live longer with plenty of company and an active life.
