these are my youngest fry at 2 weeks old well i was just feeding them and then i noticed 1 thats tail is almost bent right back i'm pretty sure that i didnt have one born like this though :/ so heres a couple of questions

1. do you think that he is being bullied because as i say i'm pretty sure that he wasnt born like that?
2.should i move him into another tank?
3. and is there anyway i xan help the poor little guy?
i no i'v got quite a few topics about deformed fry but this is different i'm sure he wasnt born like that because they were all really healthy.

Sorry there isn't anything you can do for the poor guy, maybe seperate him, is he also bloated.

I had a platy with a bent tail, he died, does he look skinny.

I actually think it was born like that. I doubt it could get deformed so much in 2 weeks.

I'd seperate him, so he doesn't get picked on by the others and so he can get food.

Good luck.

With all that inbreeding that goes on in guppies, deformities occur even in a well planned breeding. Separate the poor little guy and try to take care of him best you can. Good luck!

thanx for everyones help i seperated him the day i started this topic and put him in with some younger fry and he's no longer deformed do you think that the other fry could of been bullying him or if not what could of happend i thought he would of been like it forever

When they are born, their spines are not totally rigid, so it may have bent a little and then straightened out as he aged. That's what I am going to bet, as it happened with one of my girlies.

Glad to hear he is doing well though!

thanx annastasia i'm glad as well he's made some new friends there livvys 2 little fry they get on so well together best friends thats what they are.

maybe you should stop letting them breed if you have so many problems with inbreeding deformities...just a thought, it only seems fair... :dunno:

Because practically all guppys are extremely inbred, you simply cannot breed guppys in this day and age and go inbred-deformity free forever- the most responsable thing a guppy breeder can do is not breed for looks but breed for good imune system and genes- that way at least you properly improving the species  .

i have stopped letting them breed but you see livvy has had 3 lots of babies so far but she can have 7, ow and i have took the males out of the tank so when her 7 lots have done there will be no more deformed fry.
