Hello all:)

In both of my 30gal tanks i have large shells, and barnacles(not live). I'm learning this is not safe for my fish so I'm going to take them out but their my main decorations and i like the white color of them. I dont really like the look of already made decorations at fish stores.. I'd like to make something and the only thing i can think is rocks which will look nice but i like color and i like white. My fish love the shells too. I want my fish to be healthy and dont want to harm them, i'm paranoid about putting something in the tanks that will harm them. Any ideas? I like driftwood but they dont have any at the LFS, and once again I'm worried about harming them. I have lots of fish that like to hide.. (Loaches, plecos, a BGK, a rope fish). I'm really having a hard time with this:(

thanks guys

You can buy white rock but it is expensive - they sell it on ebay - heres a link

ebay link

If you want to buy bogwood you can get that much chepaer on ebay too - also you can buy pre- soaked so you dont have to have a brown tank and bogwood with live plants on too!

Thanks. I always looked for "driftwood". I really like the look of bogwood! Thank you so much.

Well I just went to the beach and found a piece of driftwood, its really soft wood. Should I give it a try or skip and just buy some bogwood? I also got a bunch of shale rocks to stack and make caves, would that be safe if i scrub with hot water and soak beforehand? I know i've read alot about how to treat rocks and wood before you put em in.. but I've also read and been told I shouldn't. I see alot of pictures of aquariums with wood and rocks but I just wanna make sure I do it right if I do.

Thank you guys for your help :D
