Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help me on this matter I am ready to start adding fish my to my new tank now the its all up ready and running for the last 3 weeks without any fish.

I wanted to know if there was any good places to buy fish from as there are a few places around that i use and they dont seem to stock much other then the norm. Im looking for some Dwarf Cicilds and Fire mouths one or the other i dont want to stock them both in the same tank!

I have used one place close to us and anythink i buy from them doesn't seem to last longer 4 days max :grr: . So any help on this matter would be good please.

Places i use already are:
Sixhalls Aqautics
Victors
Woodthorpe (lincs Aquatics)

Places wont use again:
Pets at home - Local of RIP of Merchant
Alford Garden centre - Every fish brought from them just dies! - I have checked water to make sure wasn't me and all other fish are fine!

Thank you for any help that is offered.

Jemma

Hi Jemma,

Sorry don't have store recommendations in UK as I'm in the USA, but your post concerns me a little where you've said you ran the tank 3 weeks without fish and are now ready to put them in. Just not sure if by "running" you meant that you fishless cycled with household ammonia per our Add&Wait method? If you just run a tank with no ammonia source it will be just as "unready" for fish on day 100 as it was on day one. It takes somewhere between 3 weeks to 2 months to make a filter ready to handle fish, and you have to know how to cycle it and test whether its ready with water testing kits.
