This has me stumped again. 1 of my female guppys died giving birth this week, least we thought so...but just 10 mins ago we found Doris our female fighter dead. Thing is she has the same colour marks on her body as the guppy had. (red patches). Tank stats are clear across the board tested today and everyone else is...dare i say it...full of life, so has anyone got any idea's?

sorry about the size :(

Are her eyes bulging out, and was she orange

Did he fish have any red streaking or patches before death.

if it seems to be contagious (since both the guppy and betta died of it), i would consider treating the entire tank. As always, when a fish becomes sick or dies, it is a good idea to check your water quality. What are your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH levels? How are the other fish acting? any physical or behaviorial changes?

Sorry just seen it lost half of the message as it went along away across and missed that.
Yes water changes on the main tank for now as they can infect others as they release the bacteria into the water.

All water stats (ph 7...ni 0 na 0 Am 0) fine and treating the tank with pima/melafix combo. No strange changes in behaviour seen at all guys, as for marking nothing till we noticed the dead ones...

The patches on the skin almost look like petechiae (small capillary hemorrhages). The eye looks hemorrhagic (bloody). I think the physical findings are strongly suggestic of a bacterial infection. Hence, I agree that this was a widespread infection. Yes....I agree it could have been septicemia. If any other fish show with symptoms, quarantine and urgent antibiotic therapy is the way to go. SH
