i work as a train driver, and i saw someone taking a bag of some tetra onto the train i tried to stop them but the guard said carry on and when it comes to things like that you cant argue with them, anyway there was a big hold up (as usual) and when i was coming up to the signal it turned red and i had to stop fast. i heard a splash and someone swear so when i came into the station i wented into the carrage and there was about 5 or 6 cardinals dead on the floor and the guy just ran away, i disposed of the fish, but i feel so guilty like i killed the fish but it was a total accident :-(

It isnt your fault, you had to break other wise you would of gone through a red which could of led to even worse consequences, you did the right thing for stopping, no way you could of known the bag would of broken.
It wasnt your fault at all, dont feel guilty
btw, can you check your pm.

ok, thanks, i guess i needed someone else to tell me that.

Why would you want to stop someone from taking their bagged fish on the train ? -_-
How else do people get things home if they don't have a car :dunno:
You must have stood just about right next to that person to have heard the water splash -_-

A shame the fish died though.

i just knew it would split somehow but i suppose if they dont have a car...
and they were in the carrage behind me-those walls are so flimsy

Poor fish, R.I.P.

Don't feel bad about it, it wasn't your fault. And it could equally well have happened in a car, if that had braked suddenly. The fault is with the person who did not pack the fish properly, and the person who did not hold them properly on the train. Not owning a car myself, the only way I can ever get fish home is by public transport, but I've never had a problem, you just have to be careful and make sure the fish are secure enough. I make sure that I tell the shop people how I am taking the fish and approximately how long the journey might take, makes it easier for them to pack properly.

Look at it another way - like Luke_e said - if you hadn't braked then thing what would have happened.
I wouldn't worry too much - fish die everyday. Why not make up for it and buy a new tank and get some of your own cardinals and love them to bits!

Please dont blame yourself for this, it is NOT your fault.... You had to brake, else lives would have been at risk!!

I wanted to give you a Smiley Hug, but there isnt one for this action, so heres a flower, but a hug will go with it too.... and dont worry ;)

:flowers:
