I've been keeping the lid on my tank up for the last couple of weeks due to the heat, the temperature's constantly around 28 degrees even with it up.

I just found one of my kyathit danios in the tiniest puddle of water, in a cereal bowl, in my kitchen sink about a foot from the tank, still alive! No water in the sink so if the bowl hadn't been in that exact position it wouldn't have survived.

No idea how long it'd been in there, but i immediately tipped it back in and it seems ok. So amazed it's still alive, it can't have been out too long surely? The water only just covered it over in the bowl!

Going to do an immediate water change just to be safe.

Just thought i'd share the story! Anyone else had some close calls?

Wow!!

Well, you were lucky! and it was a lucky fish!

You might wnt to try dropping the water level until things cool down (harder to escape past edges).

I once had (virtually) an entire shoal of marbled hatches stuck to the underside of the condensation tray!

The fish was even luckier under the circumstances, since the bowl was being held at a slanted angle by another dish, making the puddle juuuust deep enough for it!
