Hi can anyone recommend any colourful fish that would be ok with Zebra Danios.

Thanks

There are good few that would be ok, can you tell us the size of your tank 1st as its easy to know that before recommending anything too big :)

Welcome to the forum btw.

Thanks minx :)

The tank is Jewel Vision 180. 180 litres . Im really lost on what fish to consider, I know I would like danios though

how about some kind of loaches?

yoyo loaches are nice!

ermmmm some bristlenose plecos ;) or even a normal plec

you have a nice big tank ;D

I agree with bagu, yoyo loaches are pretty neat. Actually, loaches in general are really cool. you could try some dwarf fire gourami ? there really pretty and dont get as big or as agressive as some.

Thats a good sized tank, is it your first? I assume at the moment you dont have the danios? Are you cycling it before adding fish? So many questions  If you dont know about cycling a tank, then have a look at the topics regarding fish in cycling and fishless cycling, all the links are in my signature (that thing with all the colours).

Once cycled, danios are compatible with a wide range of fish, including tetras, smaller cichlids, livebearers (guppies, platies, mollies), corydora catfish, rainbowfish, gourami's the list is long. Anything that doesnt have too long fins as they can be prone to nipping or anything with a mouth large enough to eat them will do well with them.

is it cycled?

Thanks All, thats given me a few to look at. Would Swordtails go with danios?

Tank not cycled yet, Ive started it off so few weeks yet until I can start getting them. Wanted to chose what fish I could buy in the future in the meantime

oh you have tonnes of choices there, it can sometimes be difficult to recommend fish as there's just so many options and it's really down to personal taste, what I'd suggest is you go to your local fish shop, write down the names of all the fish that you like and post them up here then we can start to put together a list of the ones that go together and are suitable for the size of tank you have.

Yeah its my fish tank so its all new to me. I read all about cycling (took me a week to get to grips with it ), added ammonia to the tank and l got water testing kit at the ready to start monitoring it.

Glad danios can be mixed with so many others, wanted to start off with danios as ive heard they are hardy fish, just until I get used to things.

Im off to google all of them. I like black mollies and dalmation mollies are cool.

yes you can have sword tails with the danios that would be fine. how about a couple of livebearers aswel like plattys and mollys there pretty cool and they have babies all the time.
goodluck :good:

Thanks thats a great idea :D i know where im off to tomorrow now.

if i where you i would probably start off with the mollies or plattys or swordtails as from my experience i have found that they are slightly more hardier than danios. that is just my opinion though the kind people on this forum will probably give you actual facts on which is hardier. good luck anyway and be sure to post some pictures up of your tank when you have got your fishes. :good:
