Danio Fry With Growths Under Chin/lower Lip

I have a couple of danio fry who have developed growths on their chins/underneath their lower lips in the last few days, and have got bigger. They look very odd, rather like an extra lip, and have become quite pointy and horn-like.

Has anyone heard of this happening? Is it a sign of anything? They're eating fine, doesn't seem to affect feeding.

I can't get a picture because they just won't stop moving (as usual!).

sadly it is a sign of a bacterial infection.
given that they are fry the odds of recovery are negligable, but try a course of
melafix
