I bought a pair of pink convicts at work today that I have become pretty attached to while at work. Im not really a convict fan but this pair of pink convicts is very stunning! :good: I decided to bring them home today and relized my GT "turbo" probably wont be to happy with his new company. I put them in my 105 since my 55 is set up for Africans. So far so good. Do you think I could add some Cichlasoma Sajica in their or would my GT beat up on everybody?

If the GT is ok with the Convicts then you were lucky. Don't tempt fate by getting some Sajica. Also I wouldn't advise keeping Cnvicts and Sajicas because they will breed with each other.

If the convicts are breeding your GT will be harassed and attacked most likely. However if none of them pair up I should think they will be ok, maybe then you could add 1 or 2 other cichlids taking note of there aggression.

Not in the event of a compatible mate from their own sp..

Im guessing that the tank is a 105 gal. If so, then the convicts wont attack the GT when they breed, they will have enough space for them to both live happily. I woudent add anymore cichlids, dont make life hard for yourself. Stick to tough shoaling fish that can take the GTs attention as well as armoured catfish for the same reason.

The convicts would probably claim atleast 3ft of the tankf or there breeding territory. Not exactly much rooom for the gt

Depending on the size of the fish in question - even a breeding pair of convicts will find it hard to push a GT around, they can take care of themselves. :good:

Everybody seems to be getting along fine right now. Luckly the cons are a little bigger than the GT right now. They still get out of the GT's way when he swims by :shifty: I also added 3 golden Snails and a HUGE blue snail. Im thinking of maybe getting some XL Congo tetras.

With the addition of congo tetras or giant danios, the cichldius will have plenty to occupy themselves so the ywon't really notice each other as much.

You have ot love dither fish ...

Congo tetras:too small, will do well with the other fish, then get eaten most likely. Have a look for something bigger (4" minimum with a deep body).
Snails: will be harrased to their deaths, no matter how big they are. Blue apples only get to 1.5" (yours may be a different sp. if it is 2"+), but although it looks big when the GT gets to 8", its gonna tear that snail up no problem. NEVER keep snails with cichlids of any size (except tiny dwarfs).

The convicts would probably claim atleast 3ft of the tank or there breeding territory. Not exactly much rooom for the gt

That is assuming that the GT gives up whithout a fight. Me thinks it wont.

What are the dimentions of the tank anyway? And what is the 'Turbo' addition do, make the GT go faster?

LMAO. Turbo is the name of my GT! We call him turbo because he is the most active GT I have owned. I took the snails out and put them in my 40g. The dimentions of my tank are 72 1/2"X 25 1/2" X 19". I also added a 12 inch rope fish today. My GT has been following him around all day :shifty:

Haha, thanks for explaining that. Thought is was going to be some daft colour 'enhancement'. I would get another couple of ropefish. They are social animals and like groups, one on its own wont be very happy.

I've never had a Green terror, but when my parrot cichlids were breeding (not aggressive atall really) they pushed around my severums. You here stories of convicts killing fully grown oscars etc.Anyway good luck! :good:

How many times did they breed? Did you rasie the fry yourself or did the cichlids do it? How big was the convict and the female Sajica?
