Damaged Guppy

ah hah!! that does sound like a posibility!! I'll ask the LFS tomorrow what they were concerned and see if any of the others have come down with anything.
I don't know what I would have done without you all! I'm not sure I would have thought of that as he's not a neon tetra!!
I'll see how he goes and talk to the shop tomorrow and then let you all knoiw how he gets on and what I find out.
If you have any other ideas please post them anyway! The more the merrier!!
Thanks again!!

I have some neon tetra disease stuff in my stock cupboard....bearing in mind the downfalls of medicating wrongly....do I treat before I talk to the LFS or wait till the morning?!?!
Sorry guys..more questions!!

How quickly does this spread if the fish has not actually touched another fish but has shared the water? I have medicated sphinx but am beginning to panic. I can't loose all my fish because I'm doing the LFS a favour. I know I'm probably panicking now but......

Interesting update!
IT IS NOT NEON TETRA DISEASE!!!
The LFS installed a UV steriliser system a month ago (show's what I notice!!) and they've had no problems with N.T.D.
I am heading towards the bullied option but am keeping him in isolation at the moment. This is of course unless you've got any other ideas?!?!
He's very strong as he managed to jump out of the tank today!!! Luckily he was caught in time but..it goes to show he's not weak.
I've brought some melafix and I'll see what that does, again unless anyone has any other ideas!!!
I think he's getting stronger and I can't see any deterioration in him whatsoever.
I just thought I'd let you all know!
Thanks again for everything yesterday!

Glad it's not ntd i have it and it's a nasty desease, any flicking and rubbing, as white patches can be bacterial or parasite.

No I'd checked for that already.....no 'unusual' behaviour like that.
I am so much happier knowing that it can't be NTD!! (And I brought two more tanks today!! - They're just small for breeding, medicating and isolation etc but...well it doesn't take much to please me!!)

I thought I would post an update on this little guy
Well, sphinxy is doing well....he's swimming well now and seems to have quite a lot of energy. I've been suing melafix for the last couple of days so will continue the treatment. He's a real stunner. He's started flirting with Moggy who's also in isolation in a neibouring tank!! It's so sweet..... flirting through the glass...actually I think it's helping both of them being next to each other.
He's getting a bit bored now though so thinking of things I could put in his tank to swim through, etc.
My big concern at the moment is that when he is healed or close to it I'm scared to keep him on here rather than pass him back to the LFS as I've just had an incident with my four current guppies turning on a new guppy female I had just introduced and almost mauling her to death (she would have died if I hadn't rescued her - she is the one in the next door tank - see other post - 'New Guppy - attacked by other guppies'). I think they might pick on him too...especially if he still has even a tiny bit of weakness.
Any thoughts on that??

He'll be in isolation for at least another 7 days due to melafix and just keeping an eye. etc. I'll spend hours acclimatising him too and watching very carefully how they react to him!! *PARANOID MOTHER HERE*

I'm just paraoid about the fish!! Happy about starting discussions, I think it's the only way to share, learn and develop our knowledge whilst helping our fish at the same time!!
I'm just paranoid about my fish, the tinniest little thing and I'm all 'what's wrong, what's happening'! Most of the time I can deal with anything and everything that's going on to an extent but advice is always good and can help the thoughts progress in my own head too...plus the any emotions that are flowing it can help to calm you down talking to other addicts!!
