My tank has at last cycled and I've got 3 albino corries to start with, (I will be getting 3 more in a little while, but wasn't sure how many to add at a time)
The lfs suggested sinking pellets and frozen blood worms, no problem but a full cube of blood worms seems an awful lot for three fish. Can I defrost a cube and keep it in a tub in the fridge? That way I could just feed a few it a time. If so how long would it keep for? OR should I give the bloodworm a miss for now until I have more stock in the tank? Also, how often should I feed bloodworm?
Cheers (mrs) fishbone

I like to feed my fish small amounts so what I do with frozen cubes is cut them.
You can even slice them very easily. Take saran (plastic) wrap and wrap the pieces and put in a plastic bag in your freezer. Then take out as much as you want when you want.

Thanks, hadn't thought of that! Brain's not engaged this week.

Don't worry about it. The first time I fed a cube of frozen bloodworm my whole tank went red with it  I was my fish favorite person!

Didn't feed them for 3 days after that. Now I cut a cube into thirds while frozen and drop it into a shallow dish with a little warm tank water. When dissolved I check the amount then chuck it in. :good:

Yes, there's an awful lot of worms in one of those cubes! Once defrosted, they will keep in the fridge for a few days, but I cut them up into 2-3 pieces when I use them. I tend to feed small amounts every couple days, it's not a food you want to feed too much of IMO.

I keep some defrosted in the fridge in a really small container.
