cyphoning and fry

I've got my 5g with all my plattie fry in it. how Do i cypon it without getting the fry. If I do suck up a fry, will it be alright? the tanks well overdue for cleaning and I haven't done it cause I didn't know how to without hurting my fry. they're about 3 weeks olde and just over a cm long.
alternatively, can i just do a water change without cyphoning. or will this still leave in the harmful stuff in the water?

What kind of siphon do you have? I am assuming you have a gravel vac type syphon (long tube that lets you clean gravel while changing the water)

If so....it is simple...buy some flyscreen from the hardware store, attach it to the end of the siphon using a rubberband.... and clean away.....of course you won't be able to get all the crap out of the gravel but you will at least be able to do water changes.....eventually the fry will lose interest in the vac...

I wouldn't recommend letting the fry go up into the siphon as it may damage their sensitive little bodies

No you can use tights (pantyhose) Its cheaper and proberbly to hand

I don't do either...I have at least 100+ fry in my 29 gal...I clean my tank and they will swim to one side and stay out of ur way...LOL I have sucked a few up in the bucket, I just get the net and scoop them out and put them back in the tank...never have had any problems...When I clean out my other tanks, that is how I get all the fry out, is siphon tube sucks them up and into the bucket...
