Ok at the risk of sounding stupid but...... what is cycling? I am not familiar with all the terms used in careing for fish. Both Fred and George (plus the 4 white clouds) seem to be doing well.

The essence of cycling is establishing a colony of beneficial bacteria that convert your fish waste in the form of ammonia into nitrite and then convert the nitrite into nitrates. Nitrates are much less harmful to the fish than ammonia or nitrites which is why we say the bacteria are beneficial.
