Cycling With Fish

Some people requested that at the end of my cycle i post here with my results. Happy to say ive lost no fish and ive managed to cycle in just under a month! A and Ni levels have been at 0 for 2 days now, hoping they stay that way and i can officially say its cycled.

Fish in tank in order they were added:

3 black widow tetra
3 guppies
1 male betta
6 neon tetra

Had a bit of white spot in the middle of the cycle, but after gettin some stuff for it, that seems to be clearing up nicely

Gonna wait a while as the neons are fairly new to the tank and im gonna get 1 or 2 gourami and an apple snail to finish off my tank. I detailed all my test results (and colour coded!) please tell me if theres any mistakes with this, as far as i know ive gotten everything right.

Hi, pleased to hear that you are cycled but please remove the Betta boy asap!

Tetra and Guppy are certainly not good tank mates and nether are Gouramis.

Technically they should be kept on their own or with some cory. People do keep them in community tank but should not be with colourful fish that they may mistake for another Betta or fin nippers. Neons will do their best to harass him.

He is not in a happy situation and time will show this............

thanks, i had no idea about that, i will have to keep an eye on him. Been in for around half a month i think and no problems so far so im hoping it stays that way
