Today, I got my new 10-gallon tank! 
it has blue marine sand (said it was safe for fw fish, but it tinted the water blue D
and the plants are a cladophora or something moss ball, and then a plant a lot like cabomba that's called.... litho-something & java moss being held down by a rock. now I just have a couple questions. I'm going away tomorrow but on Wednesday am going back for some fish (a male black or orange halfmoon betta and two guppies). I'm going away for 3 days. Do you think if I stole the cabomba from my other 10g and put in 1/3 of the mature filter media from my other 10g, could I stick in 1 or 2 pearl danios and leave it running for the 3 nights while I'm away? With 1/3 mature filter media & plants it's not like there'd be much threat right? Also, 2 pearl danios is around the same bio-load as 1 betta & 2 guppies, right? I'd be doing a w/c the moment I got home & after getting my new fishies I'd be checking up on levels for a week. Unfortunately Big Al's sale ends Friday and they can't hold fish and the hm bettas are really quite popular so I don't have many options. 
Now BEFORE you all start yelling at me black bettas are really quite rare around here and I really liked the fish I saw. 
also there'd be minimal threat of poisoning for the danios cuz there'd already be a bit of mature media in the tank -- I just want it to catch up a bit while I'm gone. Anyways.... Thanks for any and all help you can give!
Also with the betta/guppies thing I'm just getting a breeding pair & the male I want has a sunset tail but it's rather short. I see no problems with this combo whatsoever. mr. Betta will be added roughly an hour after the guppies of course.
